I have had a passion to pursue a career in aged and palliative care over the last few years & have been working out which path to take. I felt almost defeated due to lack of support (through concern for my own self-care), self-doubt and opinions of others, however, I know within my own heart space that this is where my calling lies and where I need to be. My passion coincided with my own family circumstances, with a serious illness of two main family members, compounded with my own grief, dealing with my marriage in turmoil and facing infertility issues. I very much needed some time out to reflect. I ventured to take a road trip to Adelaide and back, covering 5,000kms, and a few boxes of tissues. I had many conversations with God and the universe along the way and many tears. I had some amazing spiritual epiphanies and reconnected with God. And inherently knew within my heart, that it would be my duty to work in God’s vineyard. (Regardless of the number of times I tried to ignore it!) Working in palliative care and impacting many people on a large scale is my calling. My vision is to assist in revolutionizing education & training in palliative care and aged care sector. I am currently in the process of retraining in this area with a background of studies and experience within psychology, counseling and coaching. Working with facilities as secret services strategist to talk to patients, family members & carers to identify, address and provide solutions in the care sector in areas that are lacking. One of my main objectives is to focus on bringing joy and happiness to the aged and dying. Remembering what happiness is and looking forward to death as opposed to fearing it. I heard a quote recently from David Kessler, death and grieving expert, he said: “Most people spend more time on preparing for a long weekend away on holidays, then they do for their journey of death”. I thought about it and really took it in … and thought: “Yep, guilty!” This also provoked thoughts of when you are planning to bring a baby into this world; the amount of research, preparation, nesting, nurturing that goes into this process. Perhaps death and dying should have a similar importance to enhance this just as, if not more important journey. My goal is to impact 25 million people by the year 2050. This space is a difficult one as often people don’t like to discuss death nor dying. Let alone know what to say to a person who is dying and terrified of death, often avoiding that person in their final, darkest days. Instead of spending time with that person to really make those last moments count and to help them with their journey to know that they are truly loved unconditionally, that they have been an important person to the world, that those left behind will be ok when they leave this earth plane and to give that person permission to cross over to the other “side”, whatever the “other side” is perceived to be. Death and dying will have an impact on each and every single one of us. There is no escape, no matter how hard we try to run and hide, we will all each have our own individual death experience and ultimately our physical bodies will all reach the same, inevitable D-day! The fact that we will all die one day. I want to help ease the suffering & pain from a spiritual & emotional perspective. Ultimately I wish to assist people in helping them to be aware of their spirit & to help their spirit pass over more peacefully and to provide support for every religious denomination and those whom may not have a belief. How: To assist aged care and palliative care facilities via visiting as a discrete third-party consultant focusing on patient care. Review checklists on quality and effectiveness of care, surroundings, and ambiance. Provide feedback and offer strategies to improve services to internal and external clients: being elderly and palliative care patients with an equal focus on carers and family members. Provision of education, workshops and focus on enhancing the patient experience. And also enhancing support to carers and family members. Creating a support system so people may talk to others in a similar situation. Workshops to anticipate, meet and exceed expectations. Focus on bringing some sense of joy and fun to the dying, as opposed to misery, grief, and fear. Enhance the journey of death to a greater understanding of self, provide grief and trauma support and to assist in self-care practices to bring a greater sense of acceptance and peace to one's soul on this journey. Dying is inevitable …. dying with peace and joy is optional. Peter was raised on the slopes of Mount Taranaki in a culture that supported the exploration of the old growth forests, waters and energies of the dormant volcano and their manifestations. Trained in science and laboratories he eventually became a lab manager in the isolated central north island where the forest became once again his teacher. My name is Lynne Sears, I live presently in the UK and I work for a charity assisting disabled people to become more independent. In my 20’s I had a mind-boggling, mystical experience in which I became one with all and everything around me. This didn’t make sense and ever since I have devoted my life to the study/practice of almost every spiritual discipline under the sun in order to find a way to operate my daily life, deal with events and experiences and help others whilst remaining authentic to this experience. Until now I haven’t embraced being a therapist. I felt that the better way for me to help anyone was to resolve how and why they are merely mirroring something in myself. From Florence. At one time, I thought I had arrived! Despite lifelong complex PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), I’d made my way up the ladder of scientific success. I had earned a Ph.D. at the University of California, San Diego in Chemistry and Biochemistry. I had done two postdoctoral fellowships at MIT - the first in biophysics and biochemistry (in the lab of a Nobel laureate) and the second in genetics. I was on the tenure track at a prestigious national research institute, with my own research group and program. Then, within a span of five years, most of the highest stressors that can happen to a person happened – including divorce, prolonged illness and death of family members, and major surgery for me. It was too much. I burned out so thoroughly that I had to close my lab; I couldn’t count on being able to work from one day to the next. Losing my career, which had been my raison d’etre, was the final blow. Then began my real journey of discovery, not to mention, recovery. I decided early on that I probably needed to reduce the stress in my life (ya think?), so I decided to learn meditation. The guru I went to talked about listening to/for God. I thought, “I don’t know about all this God stuff. But, I’m a biologist! I know how to observe and listen. I won’t be hoodwinked, or brainwashed. There will probably be a whole lot of nothing, but hey! If it reduces my stress, that will be a good thing.” And, for the first time ever, I began to listen with a fully open mind. My journey since then has been one of listening, observing, learning, filtering what I learn through the lens of scientific method only after information is acquired – thereby keeping an open mind – and being of service to others, which feels really good! In the process, I’ve honed in on what I’m actually meant to do, which is to help people connect to their greatest gifts; to manifest their dream life, no matter where they start, but especially when they are starting from a place of illness or upset. In my career as a scientist, I would never have expected this, but it seems I have been given the gift of helping others acquire clarity, inner peace, greater well-being, and the kind of empowerment that enables you to move from trauma, illness, or your own glass ceiling to thriving and successful. What I’ve learned has enabled me to completely heal my own PTSD, and recover from a decade-long journey through a mystery illness, dubbed adrenal fatigue, mold toxicity, fibromyalgia, or ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome) by different doctors along the way. Depression, anxiety, and prolonged anger (which was once my jet fuel) are a thing of the past. To help me in this work, I received advanced teacher training in Integrative Restoration Yoga Nidra (iRest), META energy therapy, and a variety of robustly effective techniques derived from neuro linguistic programming (NLP), timeline therapy, hypnotherapy, law of attraction, and coaching certification programs. This training, as well as the teaching, mentoring, and research skills acquired during my years in science, combine to help me help other people understand and deal with what they are facing. Yet, my most indispensable teacher has probably been my own journey, which helps me to teach people how to apply any or all of these techniques when they are starting from a place of overwhelm or confusion. The best and most empowering healer and teacher is not me, or anyone else, but the teacher within you who knows exactly what you need. No matter where you start, or where you want to go, my passion is in helping you make the internal connections you’re looking for, and maintain them until that becomes second nature.  I’m so glad to be living a life where my insides match my outsides. I used to look calm and collected, optimistic and sunny, and superlatively successful. But, my insides were a hot mess. Now, I actually feel peaceful, optimistic, and authentic. But, you know the best part? I obtained a Certificate in Education from Ghana Teachers’ College and a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Administration, Planning and Policy Studies from the University of Liberia. I have pursued a Masters in the same area at the Ghana Open University, and a doctorate in Education Management with the University of Liberia. I started my teaching career as a primary school teacher, a position in which I remained for 5 years. I was also a part-time lecturer at the Ghana Open University. As an activist for teachers' rights, I served on the National Executive Board of the Ghana Teachers' Association (GTA) for 3 years. I was also GTA's Secretary General for 2 years. I spearheaded GTA's HIV/AIDS Project and chaired the Program National Committee. I was a Board member of the local teacher training college, chairperson of the college's Academic Committee and a member of the Commission of Inquiry into Education and Training Implementation Task Force in Ghana. I was working with security for communication airline, Tamale, Ghana to help myself and my community from there I get some money in my account. I try to get a group called A TRUE LIBERIAN which to I work to improve the working conditions of teachers did not stop at the national level. He is young Liberian advocates who dream is to uplift his country to a better standard of living.
